ANJEC Open Space Stewardship Grants
ANJEC is pleased to continue offering grants to environmental commissions in New Jersey for projects to further stewardship and community involvement in parks and other preserved spaces. The 2025 Grant cycle marks the 12th year of the program. Check back in early 2025 for application information.
2024 Grant Highlights
Pictured are representatives from Hackensack, Haworth, Closter, Emerson, and Norwood Environmental Commissions with Sonja Clark from Veolia at Haworth Water Treatment Plant. These municipalities within the Veolia service area were provided with grant funds to support a variety of stewardship projects that led to park improvements for the community.

ANJEC’s Lechner Scholarship
The Lechner Scholarship Fund is a living memorial to Hermia Lechner, in recognition of her many years of dedicated service and contributions to the preservation of open space and natural resources in New Jersey. To this end, the scholarship is granted to encourage qualified students to pursue a career in a field related to environmental protection in New Jersey.
