Financial Transparency

The Association of New Jersey Environmental Commissions (ANJEC) has been protecting New Jersey’s
natural resources through establishing and empowering effective environmental commissions since its
founding in 1969. ANJEC received and maintains nonprofit status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal
Revenue Code described in sections 509(a)(1) and 170(b)(1)(A)(vi).Our mission is put to action by providing educational, technical assistance, policy, and strategy support
to environmental commissioners and to maintain a grant program that supports environmental
stewardship and community health projects. This is accomplished by ensuring adequate funding to
support our greatest resource at ANJEC, our professional staff. ANJEC runs a fiscally conservative
operating budget that ensures the trust of the funders that enable our work. ANJEC is supported by
foundations, municipal and nonprofit members, individual donors, value-aligned businesses,
government agencies, and other supporters.

Despite the challenges of nonprofit fundraising in unprecedented times, ANJEC remains in a strong and
stable position, with steady growth, expanding program expenses, and conservative fundraising
expenses.

Please contact ANJEC’s Executive Director, Jennifer Coffey, (jcoffey@anjec.org) should you have any
