Did you know that 80% of people in the U.S. can no longer see the Milky Way due to light pollution? But change is possible! Join us to learn simple, commonsense solutions to reclaim our night skies.
In this virtual workshop, experts will guide you through the science of light pollution, practical ways to raise awareness, and enact legislation to protect our skies at both local and state levels. You’ll be ready to marvel at the Gemini Meteor Shower on December 13th & 14th with newfound understanding and appreciation!
This webinar will start with a short video called Dark Sacred Night from Princeton’s Office of Sustainability.
Presenters:
- John Kashwick, Councilman, Town of Clinton
- Steve Mariconda, DarkSky International Delegate, New Jersey Chapter
- Jim Webster, Astronomical Society of the Toms River Area, DarkSky International Delegate
