Join ANJEC and Dr. Josh Kohut, Professor and Co-Founder of Rutgers University Center for Ocean Observing Leadership (RU COOL) for an overview of renewable offshore wind energy projects being developed off New Jersey’s coast and Rutgers ongoing research regarding the environmental and ecological considerations of offshore wind development.
New Jersey’s Energy Master Plan  has a target of constructing 11 GW of responsibly developed offshore wind and transmission by 2040. Transitioning to clean, renewable energy and reducing greenhouse gas emissions as much and as quickly as possible is critical to creating more resilient communities in the Garden State. New Jersey is experiencing the impacts of the climate crisis more intensely and frequently than any other state as we experience more flooding, longer periods of dryness, and increasingly hotter summers (and warmer winters). New Jersey has long been an environmental leader and is on track to lead our nation’s transition to a clean energy future.
